Free Yourself: Managing Stress & Anxiety

  • Cup & Kettle LLP 208 N WALNUT ST Bloomington United States (map)

Join Joseph Hollenbaugh as he discusses strategies to narrow the focus of mental energy to help manage stress and anxiety. Participants will also receive an advance copy of his new book: Free Yourself: A Guide To Creating A Life of Balance, Authenticity, and Purpose.

Joseph is a life coach, mediator, consultant, and author. He earned his B.A. in Journalism and went on to earn a Juris Doctorate with an emphasis in conflict resolution. While working as a mediator, he learned that external (interpersonal) conflict often exposes internal (intrapersonal) conflict within individuals, that interferes with their progress and peace of mind. With this insight, he embarked on a long and intensive study of how intrapersonal conflict arises, and how to resolve it.

In the process of studying intrapersonal conflict, Joseph dived into further study of psychology, religion, and philosophy to understand the formation of beliefs. He trained as an educator and obtained national board certification, after which he taught in a university, prison, and public school. Already steeped in the Christian faith, he studied Buddhism in depth and read prominent new age philosophers. He participated in hundreds of hours of study of therapeutic models and methods, and worked at ground level as a mental health and addictions coach in a major mental health center.

This book is the result of those experiences, incorporating knowledge and insight from a wide range of human knowledge and experience. The purpose of this work is to help individual clients develop a clear sense of their identity and purpose, in order to become free of the burden of stress, self-doubt, and unexamined beliefs that hinder progress
