Why Choose Loose Leaf Tea Over Bagged Tea?
Differences between bagged tea and loose leaf tea go far beyond appearance. The leaves found in bagged tea are generally dust and fannings from broken tea leaves. When tea leaves are finely broken they loose their essential oils. When brewed, most bagged tea releases more tannins resulting in a bitter taste.
Brewing loose leaf tea gives the tea room to expand and absorb water while they brew. Why is this good? Because giving tea room to expand and absorb water, also allows the water to flow through the leaves extracting vitamins, minerals, and flavors. Brewing tea in a bag, the tea has less room making it more difficult to extract vitamins, minerals, and taste.
